I have reached a milestone that I would never have thought I would make on any bike. I have reached 10,700 miles on my 2014 Trek Stache 8. Most of these miles were biked on on a trainer in the basement over the winter month over the last 9 years or so. Yes, some of you might be saying why lock up a Stache on a trainer when it should be used on the mountain bike trails. Well this bike does dual duty. Winter on the trainer and Spring through Fall out on the trails. I tend to favor my gravel bike(s) these days and do more flat trails, but there are times that I will still hit the trails with the Stache.
The Stache is a fun bike and very responsive and for me it is actually a very comfortable bike. The comfort comes from the reach of the bike and just the general riding position while on the bike. This is why I have it “locked” up on a trainer in the basement over the winter months.
Here is to more miles on the Stache and more miles on my gravel bikes as well.
