I have not built a computer in almost 8 years. This MSI Z87-G45 LGA 1150 is the motherboard that I decided to go with for my first build in this long absence. So far, it is a very good and stable motherboard. I have had no need for a new computer until my old computer stopped working.
It provides easy over-clocking, which I will probably not use. I like to keep a stable computer. There is also, which is a nice addition, there is a Clear CMOS button on the back panel, so if you do mess up the overclocking settings on this motherboard, pressing this button resets it back to default.
The other option I like is, and will be upgrading shortly is the mSATA connection. I can get a small mSATA drive and us it in conjunction with a standard harddrive to make performance a little bit faster.
It also provides a Killer E2200 network card. Not sure how this compares to the “standard” network card, but so far it does seem a bit quicker with less lag for the small amount of time that I have used the new computer.
The black and red is also a nice color combination. You can not see it in the case that I have, but it is nice none-the-less.
